Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day! Well, today is the French Mother’s Day. So we celebrate the American, French and Vietnamese Mother’s Day and they are all on different days! Adeline gave me a beautiful painting of a flower and a portrait of myself which I now hang in my very bare study room. Hopefully I can have it fully decorated soon so I can feel inspired when I work.

I don’t drink coffee much, not that I don’t like it but it makes me sleepy and it’s hot chocolate that keeps me up…I know, it’s strange. When I do drink coffee, I prefer Vietnamese coffee; it’s sweet and icy and oh the smell is just divine! I just thought this photo above of the heart was so pretty and Bateel always gives you a date to go along with your cappuccino. Ever since I discovered Bateel, I love going there to sample their dates. The first time I tasted a date was last summer when I arrived in Dubai. After the spa treatment, they served traditional Arabic tea with dates. I definitely did not like it the first time since they were so sweet; it was like eating cubes of brown sugar, and I couldn’t understand how people could eat it. Now, after eating Bateel dates, I must say the quality matters and I prefer the ones that are less sweet.
