Wild is the Wind

It’s a new year and I started making goals and plans to seriously pursue my career this year. I used to want to be a wedding photographer, but after the last few months, I realized what I wanted to photograph was more along the lines of the fashion and artistic portraits. I also started to realize I wanted to shoot street photography and document Dubai and my travels more. I’ve taken many photos while traveling but a strange thing happened when I decided to take street photography to another level other than clicking pretty photos of landscapes and tourist spots. I’ll post more about this later and am in the process of updating my website to reflect my new interests and trajectory. I plan to blog a lot more from now on so thank you for following me on this journey.

I started the year by actually shooting models again, after a 4 year hiatus from shooting and blogging! It felt so freeing to actually put my visions to work and oh, that feeling of when I see the photos on the screen for the first time! Photography has put back the air and life in me.

I think I’ll be doing a series “Wild is the Wind” inspired by Nina’s Simone’s song. I’ve always loved her songs and the lyrics have so much depth and soul in them and I do feel like the photos I’m taking now have greater depth than previously. It’s a long road and I have so much to learn and work on in terms of myself and with my business but with each photoshoot I’m gaining more confidence in my skills and envisioning my future with more clarity than ever before.
